Full disclosure: I was in a huge hurry when I did this manicure (and, by extension, when I took the picture), so it’s all a lot sloppier than I really prefer. But I like it pretty well anyway, so here we go. :)
All fingers except the ring finger have two coats of Deborah Lippmann Do The Mermaid, which is a lot sparklier and prettier in person and was very easy to apply. Then I did three coats of L’Oreal Paparazzi Pleaser on my ring finger and was reminded of why I’ve only used that polish once: even after three coats, you can still see a streaky spot near my cuticle! (The application was just generally a nightmare—I don’t recommend L’Oreal polishes at all.)
Finally, I added square studs from the Born Pretty Store to my ring fingers using nail glue and then topped everything with my new favorite top coat, nails inc. Kensington Caviar.
People kept asking me if these were Mardi Gras nails, and although that wasn’t my original intention, I think that’s a pretty apt description!
I got these two gorgeous butter LONDON colors at the same time and couldn’t decide which one to use first, so I decided to just use them both. I started with a bases of Thames on my pointer, middle, and pinky fingers and HRH on my ring finger and thumb. Once those dried, I placed striping tape near the tips and painted the opposite colors on each nail. Then, finally, I added a single silver hex glitter (which I got at the Born Pretty Store) to each nail to add a little sparkle.
